Awards Spotlight: Daniel Zinser, Donna Watson & Doug Axon

Congratulations to these three associates who have been recognized for their outstanding achievements! We are very proud to have each of you on our team.

Donna Watson: Next Gen 2021 Award Winner

The Kansas City Business Journal recognized Donna Watson, AVP of Trust Administration, Country Club Trust Company, as a NextGen 2021 award winner in May. The program is designed to recognize 25 emerging Kansas City area leaders, build their knowledge, connect them with others in the NextGen network and foster relationships with the current generation of Kansas City leaders. A panel of six judges selected the winners based on their accomplishments, talents and drive.

Donna’s profile was published in the June 25 print and online versions of the Business Journal. She was also recognized at a private luncheon.

Donna joined the Country Club Trust Company team in 2018 and was promoted to Assistant Vice President in 2020. She is also a member of the Estate Administration Group, one of CCTC’s specialty teams. Donna’s influence within the estate planning community is growing through her bi-weekly podcast and her book “My Legacy Experience: How My Mother’s Life Prepared Me for Her Death.”

Daniel Zinser: 40 Under 40 Accolades

Ingram’s magazine named Daniel Zinser to the 2021 Class of 40 Under 40 in March. The annual program recognizes the achievements and promise of young executives and community leaders.

Daniel began his tenure at Country Club Bank as an intern in Loan Operations in 2006, advancing to Loan Assistant to Commercial Lender to his current role as Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending.

In July 2019, Daniel graduated from the prestigious Graduate School of Banking Program at the University of Colorado, which accepts rising stars in community banking and develops them as the next generation of banking leaders.

Daniel was honored in the April, 2021 print and online versions of the magazine.

Doug Axon: CFO of the Year

The Kansas City Business Journal honored Doug Axon as 2021 CFO of the Year at a private luncheon on July 30.

The CFO of the Year Awards program recognizes financial professionals in the Kansas City region for outstanding performance in their roles as corporate financial stewards.

Doug has served as Country Club Bank’s Chief Financial Officer for 17 years, leaving “Wall Street” banking to join an organization that cares about its customers and community.

During his tenure, the organization’s assets have grown to $2.3 billion, distinguishing us as the second-largest privately owned bank in Kansas City.

Doug’s leadership style is shaped by the philosophy of always doing what’s right for the organization.
