Spider Mike Ribbon Cutting | March 29

Country Club Bank celebrated Spider Mike's Tree Trimming as the company joined the Leavenworth-Lansing Area Chamber of Commerce.

Associates folded laundry, made and passed out enrichment for the animals, read to them and performed other day-to-day tasks.

3rd Annual Peace Out Cancer Pickleball Tournament | April 7

Country Club sponsored this year's Peace Out Cancer event, an initiative that combines pickleball, community and a noble cause. The organization provides recliners and lift chairs, free of charge to give breast cancer patients comfort and independence during their time of need.

Eclipse 2024 | April 8

CCBers turned their (protected) eyes skyward to get a glimpse of the 2024 solar eclipse.



 

Rose Brooks | April 11

CCB associates Hallie Mannon, Jayne Neal, Debbie Powell and Natalie Alderman volunteered at Rose Brooks Center on April 11, assisting with projects such as organizing and sorting donations, cleaning and assisting in the kitchen and pantry.


Rose Brooks Center is about saving lives by breaking the cycle of domestic violence so individuals and families can live free of abuse. Each year, Rose Brooks Center counts on more than 1,000 volunteers.



 

Thompson Medal for Integrity in Finance and Economics| April 17

Country Club Bank hosted Benedictine College's third annual presentation of the Thompson Medal for Integrity in Finance and Economics on April 17. Named after Country Club Bank's late chairman Byron Thompson, the award recognizes an individual in business who exemplifies integrity and competence and makes significant contributions to both their sphere of business and their community.


This year's medal was awarded to Esther George, former president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. Esther spoke about her 40-year career at the Federal Reserve, what she learned from Byron Thompson and her thoughts on the Federal Reserve's response to various financial crises and the current economic outlook.



 

Blue Star Award Nominations - Olathe East High School| April 25


Modeled after Broadway’s Tony Awards, Starlight’s annual Blue Star Awards recognize achievement and excellence in musical theatre among Kansas City area high school students. The program is one of the largest and most admired high school musical theatre awards programs in the nation.


All high schools in metropolitan Kansas City and selected outlying communities are invited to participate. This year, 58 schools and more than 4,500 kids were involved in the Blue Star program. Mark Fortino, Country Club Bank COO, assisted as Immediate Past Board Chair of Starlight with the Blue Star Award Nomination presentation at Olathe East. The school had a record four banners of nominations for their show Sister Act.



 

CCVI Trolley Run | April 28

Stephanie Mallory, Margeaux Seymour and Dallas Shepherd recently ran the 4-mile Trolley Run to raise money for the Children's Center for the Visually Impaired. The Trolley Run is the largest fundraiser for the CCVI. All proceeds are used to support education and therapy for kids who are blind or visually impaired.



 

Harvesters |April 29

Associates Jen Samudio-Harris, Kim Vernon, Katie Murtaugh, Kindra Sheridan, Sandy Dershem-Vega and Janet Rickard helped fold bags for a Harvester's food distribution effort.
