February is Black History Month, and 41 Action News is highlighting the importance of Black culture and history in the Kansas City area. Congratulations to Donna Watson, AVP - Trust Administrator, on being highlighted in their Black Community Member Profiles article.
"I am passionate about financial literacy. But not because of an interest in numbers or the accumulation of wealth for wealth’s sake. Rather, I understand the opportunity that opens when people manage money wisely. In many underserved communities, financial literacy is not discussed—many people aren’t educated about even simple financial matters. It's important they hear these messages from someone they identify with."
CCB is proud to be made up of team members like Donna. Thank you for the work you do for our Kansas City community.

Congratulations to our very own Chandler VanSickle, Associate Wealth Strategist, on the completion of his first Ultra Marathon!
What is an Ultra Marathon you ask? Chandler ran FIFTY-ONE (yes, 5 - 1) miles and finished in 9 hours and 24 minutes which snagged him a second place finish!
Read below on what motivated Chandler during his during his 8 months of training and the race itself in Stockton, MO on December 26.
"At the beginning of April there were two huge motivators that pushed me towards this journey. The first was my reconnection with an old friend who had just completed his first ultra-marathon in January of 2020 and encouraged me to start training. The second and most important was the separate journey my fiancé and I embarked on when we invited our little sister, Haley, from the Big Brothers Big Sisters program to come live with us. The consistent training and ultimate completion of the race was mainly driven by the desire to teach Haley the value of hard work and show her that she can achieve anything she sets her mind to. Needless to say, the stars happened to align perfectly for me to find the right motivation to pull this off. My fiancé, Christina, and Haley were there to support me through the months of training and on race day and I couldn’t have done it without them!"
