Department Spotlight: Country Club Trust Company

CCTC hits milestone with $3 billion in assets under administration.

It’s official! As of October 31, Country Club Trust Company had slightly more than $3 billion in assets under administration (AUA).

AUA measures the total market value of all the financial assets held by Country Club Trust Company acting as a custodian, trustee or investment manager.

“We’re all very excited about this achievement,” said Suzy Hall, CCTC President and Chief Administrative Officer. “Of course, the market has helped us, but we're also having our best new business year ever. Everybody's been working really hard, and it's notable to get over that $3 billion mark."

CCTC has seen consistent growth throughout the years, but that growth has accelerated since 2015, when the trust company was knocking at the $2 billion door.

“We’ve gone from $500 million in 2003, when I started here, to $3 billion now,” Suzy said.

Suzy noted that, in addition to the favorable market of the last several years, CCTC’s evolving business model has been a major driver of success.

“We have shifted our focus to a more holistic wealth planning model,” she said. “So instead of conversations just about investment return, we're offering clients more holistic financial planning solutions. And being affiliated with Country Club Bank, we can offer them so much more than investment and wealth solutions. We can also offer banking solutions, mortgage solutions and everything else the bank offers—all in one place.”

Suzy attributes the lion’s share of credit for reaching the $3 billion milestone to the hard work of CCTC’s 41 associates.

“This has been such a team effort of the company,” she said. “We couldn't be any prouder of the individual effort everybody put in for us to get to this goal. It's not just the sales team. It's not just the investment team. It's not just the trust officers. It's taken hard work on the part of everybody on our team—directly within Country Club Trust Company and the broader Country Club Bank organization.”
