1. How did you get into banking?
I started as a part-time teller while attending college. To be honest, I didn’t plan to stay in banking, but my values and goals always seemed to align with my banking career. I enjoy learning, being challenged and building relationships. My banking career allows me to consistently build on these every day. As a Commercial Lending Officer for the Northwest region, I am focused on being a premier community lender.
2. What drew you to CCB?
I was drawn to Country Club Bank for the following opportunities:
To work for a community bank, specifically in the community where I live.
To help build a family-owned bank.
To work with a diverse team, so we can continue to learn, challenge and grow together.
3. How have you been able to advance your career at Country Club Bank?
I’ve been very blessed to advance my career with Country Club Bank over the years. I started on the consumer side as a Relationship Banker. I was then promoted to Relationship Banking Officer and then to Customer Service Manager.
I am lucky to work with an amazing Regional President, Craig Gaffney, who highly advised me to look into the lending side of the bank. When I say "highly-advised," I mean "pushed me out of my comfort zone." I started as Craig’s Loan Assistant and constantly strived to advance my lending knowledge. I eventually moved into the Credit Analyst role, which exposed me to a wide variety of commercial loans. All of these moves brought me to my current position as a Commercial Lending Officer.
4. What advice would you give other Country Club Bank associates about advancing within the bank?
My advice for those looking to advance in their career with Country Club Bank is to explore other divisions. Doing so will give you the opportunity to expand your banking and CCB knowledge while building relationships across the bank. Having a working knowledge of other divisions will set you apart from your peers, and you will be a valuable asset to the bank and our customers.
I'd also advise associates to ask themselves the CCB/Thompson question daily: ”Are you doing it, or are you doing it well?” Strive to always do it well!
