Team Impact volunteers ensure local residents’ basic hygiene needs are met.
Do you remember how you felt the last time you ran out of shampoo and had to go to work hoping no one would notice your grimy hair? Can you imagine leaving the house in the morning without brushing your teeth because you don’t have a toothbrush or toothpaste?
Unfortunately, that’s the everyday plight of many Kansas Citians. Fortunately, though, Giving the Basics is a local hygiene hub dedicated to providing basic hygiene and cleaning products for the poor in Kansas City. Many of these basic items—soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, razors, feminine products and toilet paper—are not covered by government assistance.
On February 23, Country Club Bank’s Team Impact volunteers met at Giving the Basics to box items that were routed to 90 registered organizations and 228 schools throughout the Kansas City Metro area.
By volunteering at Giving the Basics, CCB volunteers changed lives—one tube of toothpaste, one bar of soap, one stick of deodorant, one hygiene item at a time! Thanks to everyone who turned out for this cause!
