After a 35-year banking career, Debbie Powell is considering her next adventure.

Debbie Powell is retiring on February 28, almost 25 years to the day she began at Country Club Bank on Feb. 22, 2000.
Debbie’s career began unexpectedly in 1989 when a neighbor who worked at Manufactures State Bank mentioned a job opening for a telephone operator. She got the job, which led to roles as a proof operator and teller before she eventually found her way to MidAmerican Bank—now Country Club Bank.
CCB’s hometown values and supportive work environment attracted her after she began looking for a job outside the big bank that had acquired Manufactures. At CCB, Debbie has taken on various roles from teller to manager to deposit operations. She notes she has worked alongside “many amazing people” while at CCB.
As she moves into retirement, Debbie will focus on spending more time with her children, grandchild and great-grandson. Although unsure of her next adventure, she looks forward to the flexibility and opportunities this new chapter will bring.
Debbie advises her CCB colleagues is to take advantage of the many opportunities the bank offers. What started as a job, she said, turned into a fulfilling career. “There will never be another experience like this one,” she added, referencing CCB’s family atmosphere.
Thank you, Debbie, for your years of service. We wish you the best in retirement!
