Matthew Breedlove, a Leawood, Kansas resident, was diagnosed with autism at age 2. He began painting after spending time with his grandmother (an artist herself) at her art studio.
Matthew has always expressed himself through his artistic endeavors, whether it is making his own crayons, painting watercolor cityscapes or creating his latest bold and energized acrylic canvases. Often struggling to verbalize his feelings, Matthew’s paintings attempt to convey his emotions.
Matthew’s use of palette knife and paintbrush, along with his dynamic choice of colors, has won him a loyal following across the Midwest.
Matthew Breedlove’s art is in the Tower rooms.
Matt Horn is a creative young adult who doesn’t let Down syndrome define who he is. When he’s not painting, he loves to cook, lift weights, and assemble puzzles and Star Wars Legos. He loves to start each new piece by selecting the colors. Then he plans the design in his head, jumps in and starts painting!
Matthew's painting style has evolved over the years, and he now enjoys using bold, modern designs that inspire and engage.
Matthew has been involved with the nonprofit Inclusion Connections since high school. He was one of the organization’s original "PawsAbilities" students, preparing for future employment through their skills training program. He quickly became one of their stars, sewing more dog bandanas each year than anyone else!
Matt works at Streamline Insurance Group. In the future, Matthew would like to live independently and have his own dog. Selling his artwork is one way he plans to help support himself—he prides himself on being a really hard worker!
NCIS is Matthew’s favorite show, and he has many of Gibb's Life Rules memorized. Matt’s favorite is Rule #10—it is better to seek forgiveness than to ask permission!
Matthew Horn’s art is displayed in offices on the third floor.
